Telefónica Tech and 3M have launched a technological solution based on artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize the management and planning of hospital emergency department (HED) resources in Spain.

The solution offers a comprehensive view of HED operations and integrates key service indicators into 3M’s Visor 360 scorecard, while also including a module with advanced analytics that predicts daily ED visits a week in advance to improve waiting times and optimize service size. The solution will enable healthcare professionals and managers to avoid delays in patient care due to staff shortages caused by unforeseen peaks in care and plan possible referrals to other hospitals in the event of potential excess demand.

This innovative solution, developed by combining the differential capabilities of Telefónica Tech and 3M, enables emergency healthcare professionals to make better decisions and predict future service needs, resulting in better patient care.
