Summary:

The 5th edition of the I innovate innovation competition concluded during Innovation Week at CosmoCaixa in Barcelona. Sponsored by Siemens Healthineers and Alexion AstraZeneca Rare Disease, the competition encouraged Vall d’Hebron professionals to submit innovative projects in categories such as patient- and family-centered care, talent development, organizational quality, and sustainability. The winning project, ‘High Level Support for Critical Situations,’ is a mobile application designed to streamline workflow during cardiac arrests, offering automatic reminders for decisions and actions. The app aims to alleviate stress for healthcare professionals during critical situations. It provides automatic reminders about the decisions made and the next actions to take, allowing the assistant to focus on executing the necessary measures.

The winner, Marc Mendo, a resident of Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, received the Siemens Healthineers Jo innovo 2023 Award, including support for idea development and a trip to the Karolinska Institute.
