Respiree, in collaboration with Roche, is set to revolutionize patient monitoring across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region through a pilot program that integrates Respiree’s vital sign monitoring solution with Roche’s blood glucose monitoring system, the cobas® pulse. This partnership aims to simplify clinical workflows, improve diagnostic and monitoring capabilities, and ultimately enhance patient outcomes.

Current patient monitoring processes often involve nurses manually managing multiple workflows, collecting vital signs at intervals, and working from limited centralized workstations. With rising patient volumes and nursing shortages, this approach can be time-consuming and inefficient. The new collaboration seeks to address these challenges by offering a more streamlined and efficient patient monitoring solution.

Launching in the first quarter of 2025, the pilot programs will combine Respiree’s advanced biometric monitoring capabilities with Roche’s cobas® pulse system. This point-of-care device, which operates on an Android platform, provides real-time administration and visualization of patient data, eliminating the need for centralized workstations. Respiree’s solution will monitor multiple biometrics, such as pulse rate, oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, and more, while also allowing for the input of blood pressure readings and blood glucose levels.

In future, this solution is expected to integrate machine learning models capable of predicting clinical deterioration using historical data and risk scores, further enhancing its diagnostic capabilities. Nurses and healthcare professionals will be able to access real-time patient data, monitor historical trends, and automate the collection of vital signs directly at the patient’s bedside, significantly improving workflow efficiency and reducing manual tasks.

Dr. Gurpreet Singh, CEO of Respiree, highlighted the potential impact of this collaboration: «The combination of Respiree’s solution with Roche’s cobas® pulse system promises to transform patient care by delivering immediate insights at the bedside, reducing the burden on centralized systems, and improving the overall efficiency of clinical workflows.»
