Heart disease remains the world’s leading cause of death, responsible for more than 20 million lives lost each year. Yet experts agree that most premature cases can be avoided through early prevention and lifestyle changes. With this in mind, Huawei has introduced the Watch D2, a smartwatch that brings certified blood pressure monitoring and heart rhythm analysis directly to the wrist.
Far from being just another gadget, the Watch D2 represents a clinically validated companion for cardiovascular health. It is the first Huawei wearable to receive CE certification in Europe for pulse wave blood pressure monitoring, placing medical-grade tools in everyday use.
The device combines two groundbreaking features:
- Arrhythmia detection by pulse wave, approved under CE MDR since August 2025, allowing reliable alerts for atrial fibrillation and other rhythm irregularities.
- Oscillometric blood pressure tracking, to be added in October via an OTA update, using the same method applied in clinical practice for round-the-clock, precise measurements.
Complementing these functions, Huawei’s Health Glance now delivers 13 health indicators in a single tap, while the Huawei Health app enables users to share reports with family, strengthening support networks and remote monitoring.
The Watch D2’s design emphasizes prevention and accessibility, aligning with World Heart Day’s message: “Don’t lose the rhythm.” By turning advanced cardiovascular tracking into a daily habit, Huawei moves closer to building a reliable, connected and human-centered digital health ecosystem.
