Punto Health is a digital health startup with a mission to improve the lives of patients with cognitive decline and dementia, as well as their caregivers. The company has developed a comprehensive platform that addresses the clinical, emotional, and practical needs from the early stages of cognitive impairment to advanced phases of the disease.
The company offers two main solutions. The first, Punto Test, is a digital tool based on speech analysis, allowing for early detection of cognitive risk using machine learning applied to acoustic, lexical, and semantic parameters. Clinically validated with over 500 participants, the test achieves 90% sensitivity and 81% specificity. It’s currently in advanced regulatory processing for CE marking in Europe and UKCA approval in the UK. The test has already been piloted in pharmacies and with the UK’s National Health Service (NHS).
The second solution, Punto Care, is an app designed for both patients and caregivers. Available in Spanish, Catalan, and English, the app offers personalized support with four core features: clinically validated content, an AI-powered virtual assistant, a symptom tracking system, and a daily adaptive cognitive stimulation plan. Punto Care was developed to address the critical gap in post-diagnosis support, offering both clinical and emotional value in a user-friendly, motivational format.
Both solutions were developed through intensive co-design with doctors, caregivers, and patients, adapting to various needs from active seniors to those with advanced dementia. Punto Health is collaborating with hospitals like Hospital del Mar and Fundación ACE in Spain, as well as NHS in the UK, and has launched pilots in nursing homes, day centers, and home care agencies.
Punto Health operates on a SaaS-based modular business model with subscription options for healthcare institutions, home care organizations, and nursing homes, as well as a limited B2C model for Punto Care. After recently securing £2 million in funding, the company aims to scale its market presence and expand into Europe, the US, and Latin America. Their goal is to become the leading platform for cognitive health screening and digital support, a rapidly growing sector driven by global aging demographics.
